Karin Escalante, LCSW-C

My ideal client is one that is ready to make change, however small or great, in their life. I commonly work with people experiencing PTSD and other stress related disorders, depression, anxiety and OCD disorders, bipolar disorder, self-esteem issues, grief/loss, adjustments and transitions in life, and the challenges of
creating and maintaining healthy relationships. Client’s needs can be very diverse from learning coping skills, mindfulness skills, learning to harness thoughts to create positive and empowering change to processing and healing from trauma, navigating the grief process, to navigating relationships and life transitions.

I have 30+ years of experience providing therapy, supporting and guiding people on their journeys of growth and personal development and healing from traumatic experiences. I have experience with many different populations and multiple settings including in-patient treatment, community-based mental health treatment centers and the prison system. Working with such diverse populations has motivated me to increase my knowledge of different therapeutic modalities. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in successful treatment, so I work to provide a culturally competent, safe, non-judgmental, and supportive atmosphere that allows you to express yourself openly and freely. I use an eclectic approach to tailor therapy to each individual, most commonly utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy, EMDR, somatic therapies, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness practices. I will support you in processing past experiences, navigating life’s twists and turns, and moving forward with a sense of hope and happiness, all at the pace with which you are most
comfortable.

If you are struggling with how to manage your daily life, dealing with stressors, facing challenges related to past/current circumstances, have relationship or family concerns, you are not alone. If you want to begin a process to learn to manage emotions, maneuver life’s trials and tribulations, and find freedom and relief in
managing your mental health struggles, we can do this together. I invite you to take the next step and contact me.
