Kimber Byus, LGSW

In my practice, I specialize in addressing the complex tapestry of mental health challenges, trauma, and depression/grief across a diverse age spectrum – from children to the elderly. My ideal clients are those who, despite their different stages of life, share common threads of emotional and psychological distress. These individuals may be grappling with the impacts of trauma, the shadows of depression, or the painful journey of grief. Children in my care often struggle with articulating their emotions and understanding their experiences. Adults might be battling to balance life’s demands while coping with mental health challenges. The elderly clients I assist may be dealing with the compounded effects of a lifetime’s worth of experiences, possibly feeling isolated or misunderstood. The goals of my clients are as varied as their challenges. A child might seek to find joy in daily activities again, an adult might aim to manage their mental health while juggling responsibilities, and an elderly individual might aspire to find peace and connection in their later years. All of them are united in a desire to reclaim a sense of normalcy, stability, and happiness in their lives.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in compassion and adaptability. I understand that each age group requires a unique touch – be it play therapy for children, more structured therapy for adults, or a gentle, empathetic approach for the elderly. My sessions are tailored to meet the specific needs and communication styles of each client, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for healing. I employ a range of evidence-based practices to address the specific challenges of mental health, trauma, and grief. My focus is not just on alleviating symptoms but also on building resilience, self-understanding, and coping strategies that are sustainable in the long term

Beyond my role as a therapist, I believe in building a genuine connection with my clients. I want them to know that they are not alone in their struggles and that their feelings and experiences are valid and heard. My aim is to walk alongside my clients in their journey, providing support, understanding, and guidance. If you or a loved one is navigating through these challenges and in search of a therapeutic relationship based on empathy, expertise, and tailored care, I am here to help. Reach out, and let’s take the first step together towards healing and growth.
